Title or Location: America's Cup Harbor
Following seven hours of taping out the subject matter, I took the watercolor out to America's Cup Harbor in Point Loma. At 9am I began throwing paint with my 6-inch brush to start a "Stylin' with Blue Tape" demonstration en plein air for the San Diego Watercolor Society Second Saturday Paintout. I always enjoy seeing people's faces as the paint spreads and drips across the 140 Arches Cold Press paper! Came back to the studio and spent another 5 days completing details.Exhibited:San Diego

I enjoy documenting my life in watercolor. I have a few completed watercolor journals. This particular page depicts a time we went on a hike in Crest - a rural mountain community about 20 miles east of San Diego. We were staying in a nearby Airbnb while our house was being renovated. We had no idea these trails existed, and now this illustrated memory will be cherished.

These lovely red flowers are called desert paintbrush. I first learned about them when I was just a boy growing up in New Orleans. I loved all earth sciences, but especially rocks, gems, and flowers. I had a little book that showed different flowers from around the United States and these desert paintbrush were always my favorite. We didn?t have anything like that growing in New Orleans (and it was a terrible place to try to be a rockhound since it?s all delta), but I held out hope that when I g

It was a day out at Culross a very picturesque historic town in Fife. Because of the olde ye appearance it has featured in the TV series Outlander and the film of the book Kidnapped written by Robert Louis Stevenson?s. The whole place is photogenic. I had a thought about all the artists and photographers that have graced the its streets and it must be in thousands. I wonder how many have ever produced a rendering of the oil refinery on the other bank of the Forth.

Clouds fascinate me, constantly changing shape and color. This painting is of the front pasture with a dash of artistic license. The willow tree towers in the middle of a wet weather creek and begged to be painted.(There is no box for my website, so I hesitated to input it, but would appreciate a mention if allowed....FeliciaLWhite.com. I love painting little creatures. I have been a working artist all of my life but never had the chance to perfect my skills in artistry. Now that I am retired, I find myself painting something every day with acrylics, watercolors, and or inks. I started painting on terracotta pots, then started making my hand-crafted paper to paint on, and then to tea bags and now painting little ornaments. My friends say that I paint on anything but canvas. This is true!
